Everton have been attending Alsop High School every Monday to work on a programme called ‘She Inspires’ working with our year 8 and year 9 girls. This is the second year we have run this programme at school and it has been really exciting for the girls to take part in. The programme is an initiative funded by Merseyside Police to help raise awareness for girls on sexual assault, violence against girls and women, helping to build confidence, resilience and self esteem. The girls have completed 5 sessions in the classroom learning these valuable life skills and then 5 sessions outside on the football pitch putting some football skills into practice, learning how to play as part of a team, as well as promoting peer support. The girls have all behaved impeccable and have really enjoyed this programme. Some of the girls have been interested in enrolling in Everton’s referee course, which will hopefully be getting set up in the new Year by Everton and is an exciting opportunity for our girls to be taking part in.

A huge congratulations to Nallah S who won a £25 love to shop voucher for the student who has show the most improvement and impressed Everton staff throughout the programme. Nallah was very happy to receive this prize and was very unexpected of it. She has taken great pride in informing us that she had purchased a nice new pair of ear phone with her voucher. Well done Nallah!!!!!
