On Friday, May 9th, Year 7 students had a fantastic session with Aurianna from Action for Conservation. The day began with a recap of the ideas students had developed for their legacy project, followed by an exciting discussion with Mr. Kerfoot, who gave full support for any ideas the group wished to pursue.

After a vote, the class decided to create wall-mounted planters for an outdoor wall, along with hanging planters made from recycled plastic bottles. The group expressed strong enthusiasm for repurposing plastic, so Aurianna kindly taught the students how to make bird feeders from old water bottles. The bird feeders were a great success, and students took them home to find the perfect spot to hang them.

The students are now researching which plants would work best for the project, and we look forward to the next session with Aurianna, when she will bring the planters we’ve chosen. A huge thank you to Action for Conservation for generously funding this wonderful project!
