Action for Conservation

We had a really exciting session with Action for Conservation on Tuesday, 14th April. Our group of Year 7s have shown passion and commitment to learning about the environment. Today's session had students working in groups to pitch their ideas for the legacy project. We had some fantastic suggestions. The idea everyone has decided to move forward with is creating green walls in geography classrooms. The next step will be to research plants that oxygenate the air and reduce CO2. We also need to think about the most suitable designs.
For the second half of the session, we made bird feeders. Apple segments were hung on a string, dipped in peanut butter, and then in birdseed. Very messy, but lots of fun, and I'm sure our local birds will appreciate the efforts.
It was fantastic to be involved with such bright and articulate students, and I can't wait to see what they come up with.
