Student Rewards
At Alsop High School, we believe that recognising and celebrating success is essential in motivating students, promoting positive behaviour and supporting academic achievement. Our rewards programme encourages students to take pride in their actions, develop confidence and build strong learning habits, while maintaining a healthy balance between external rewards and intrinsic motivation.
Rewards help students understand the link between positive choices and positive outcomes, reinforcing high expectations and supporting a calm, purposeful and inclusive learning environment. Alongside formal rewards, verbal praise and positive recognition across the school day play an equally important role in reinforcing what it means to live and learn the Alsop Way.
Encouraging Positive Behaviour and Engagement
Our rewards system:
- Encourages positive behaviour, attendance, effort and respect.
- Motivates students to engage fully in learning and enrichment opportunities.
- Builds confidence, self-esteem and a sense of achievement.
- Promotes teamwork, responsibility and community spirit.
- Supports academic progress by improving focus, effort and participation.
- Celebrates individual strengths as well as collective success.
Targeted rewards initiatives may also run throughout the year to support specific priorities, such as exam preparation or improved engagement.

These students receive certificates and subject badges and are celebrated in Rewards Assemblies. Teachers also regularly make positive phone calls home to celebrate effort and success.
