Today Year 10 and the Geography team have been to the North Wirral coast. We have visited Leasowe Bay and walked along the coast to New Brighton. We have done this to support learning for our GCSE (AQA Geography) as it forms the 'physical fieldwork' element of the course. We have measured the beach profile, using ranging poles, clinometres and tape measures. We have analysed the different methods of coastal management, such as concrete revetments, 'Y' shaped groynes, rock armour and sea walls.

We've been very lucky with the weather, as we've had a brilliant day in the sun. The students were an absolute pleasure to look after today. I was really proud to see their manners with the general public and the respect that they showed for the natural environment.
