On Monday 24th June, 10 Year 9 students were invited to attend Liverpool Hope University. Students were challenged to compete in 3 different STEM activities going against 2 other schools in the City region.

The 1st task was to use E-Fit software, which is used by the police, to accurately profile a criminal based on witness statements that were given. The 2nd challenge included learning how to use different medical equipment and students were given CPR training - and then tasked to save a life! The final challenge was to program a robot that would complete certain demands based on what colour the robot's colour sensor detected - Shout out to Saiya T and Jacob B who thrived in this task!

With no surprise, the other schools were no match for our talented Alsop students, winning 2/3 of the challenges! Adaeze U, Anita Eda, Ethan S and Dameon R were presented with their rewards from no other than the Lord-Lieutenant of Merseyside, Mark Blundell. We are extremely proud of our students at Alsop and look forward to the next exciting STEM Challenge event that awaits!

Shout out to Mr. Mulvaney for being the best bus driver and to the bus company The Variety Club who funded this minibus for Alsop!
